2020 has been an incredibly difficult year for many industries, one of which being the air show industry. So when the New York Air Show announced they were still ‘on’ for their show, Full Disc Aviation wanted to be there. With the COVID-19 pandemic, the air show organizers decided on a drive-in type format and moving the location of the show from Stewart International Airport to a smaller airport, Orange County Airport. The event offered roughly a 20x20 space for attendees to park their vehicle and sit outside to enjoy the show. The event was a huge success, and may be the solution for air shows to continue on with the future being unknown. The biggest miss was the static aircraft. However, there were no complaints about hearing the sound of freedom and shutters working hard to capture moments not often seen in 2020.
